Blackstone Fortress is the successor of the old Warhammer Quest game system but placed in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Groups of explorers search an abandoned Blackstone Fortress for treasurers while battling the chaotic occupants of the facility. The game is great fun so I quickly painted up all the models as well as most of the expansion sets.
The explorers from the core game set arrive on different ships. At the forefront are the Rogue Trader Janus Draik and his Navigator Espern Locarno.
Hidden in a cargo hauler are the robot UR-025 from the Age of Technology and the Ratling brothers Rein and Raus.
A contingent of the Imperial Church in the form of Ministorum Priest Taddeus the Purifier and Missionary Zealot Pious Vorne.
Finally we have the aliens, Asuryani Ranger Amallyn Shadowguide of the Eldar and Kroot Tracker Dahyak Grekh.
The Escalation expansion set brings a few more explorers to the Blackstone Fortress. First, we have Rogue Trader Neyam Shai Murad, Psyker Aradia Madellan and the Crusader Gotfred de Montbard.

With the explorers out of the way, the Blackstone Fortress can be filled by plenty of baddies. Lord of the fortress is Chaos Lord Obsidius Mallex with his two Chaos Space Marine bodyguards.
Mighty beasts roam the Fortress including Ur-Ghuls, Negavolt Cultists, Spindle Drones and Chaos Beastmen.
A group of Traitor Guardsmen also resides in the Fortress. They are led by a Traitor Commissar and his Ogryn bodyguard (both from the Traitor Command expansion). Two units of Traitor Guardsmen and two Rogue Psykers complete the Guard contingent.
