Last Prussian Cavalry

I finished the three Prussian cavalry regiments that were directly attached to the infantry brigades at Waterloo. This wraps up the cavalry for my collection with just one brigade of infantry left to paint.

From the top we have 4. Husaren Regiment attached to 1. Brigade (I Korps), two squadrons each of 11. Husaren Regiment attached to 5. and 6. Brigade (II Korps), and finally the uniquely-uniformed 3. Schlesisches (Silesian)Landwehr Kavallerie Regiment attached in squadrons to 15. and 16. Brigade (IV Korps).

Prussian “brigades” are comparable to a division in the other armies of this era. A Prussian brigade includes three infantry regiments of 3 battalions each, usually some attached cavalry squadrons, an artillery battery, and often other specialists. In this case, the only thing left are the 9 infantry battalions and some Silesian skirmishers.
