Greek Cities

This force was designed for Saga Age of Alexander, but could also be used for mass battle games. I kept the scheme deliberately simple to pull attention to the shields and allow use under the banner of most city states of the pre-Alexandrian Greek period.

Heroes: The Greek Cities can be led by a Warlord on foot as well as several Legendary Warlords.

Hearthguard: I am using Warlord Games plastic figures for the Hoplites. The ones with brass cuirasses are classed as veterans, those with just linen clothing can be levy for some of the city variants, and the white hardened leather cuirasses make up the regulars.

Warriors: A variety of citizen infantry make up the core of the Greek armies, with the addition of a few specialist units.

Thureophoroi with their distinct oval shields.
Thorakitai in heavier chainmail armour.
Four units of Peltasts for lighter skirmishing roles.

Levy: The Greek Cities can draw on a wide range of levy choices for ranged support.
