Squat Prospectors

A small palate cleanser after all those Napoleonic models. They are 3D printed proxies for the Ironhead Prospector gang in Necromunda.

Video review of Waterloo collection

As my first foray on Youtube, I have shot a simple video covering the Anglo-Dutch army at Waterloo and some thoughts on the composition of the collection. Enjoy: https://youtu.be/rLqA9p1d3dw

Anglo-Dutch at Waterloo DONE!

My long journey to complete the Anglo-Dutch at Waterloo in 28mm is completed! Hurrah. Photos of the full collection can be found here. Right on time for the 109th anniversary of the battle!

Below are the status of this project – my largest to date – for your amusement:

  • 21 months of painting excluding about 3 months of prior prep/assembly/purchasing.
  • 3105 figures of all types in total
  • 62 command bases (4 army/corps, 12 division/special, 46 brigade & ADC)
  • 78 infantry regiments (58 line, 20 light – 14 of which are large)
  • 31 cavalry regiments (10 heavy, 21 light)
  • 25 artillery batteries with 76 guns
  • 108 skirmish bases
  • 124 casualty markers
  • 17 vignettes/bands
  • 791 MDF bases
  • ~35 cans of Wraith Bone spray primer (estimate, some used for other figures during the period)
  • ~17 cans of AK Interactive Matt Varnish (estimate, some used for other figures during the period)
  • 16 bags of Geek Gaming Base Ready Patchy Plains & Green Grass (mixed, some left over)
  • 124 flags (all but four from GMB Flags though I bought a few more that I didn’t end up using for some of the cavalry)
  • 18 bottles of Nuln Oil, 14 bottles of Black Templar and countless other Contrast Paints

I will now take a break with some other projects while I prepare the Prussians!

New Photos for Flames of War

I am migrating my historical collection to a second display room and taking new photos at the same time. Updated photos are now available for the Flames of War German, American and British Para armies. Enjoy.

Mordheim Bretonnian Knights

The last year and a half was mostly focused on my almost-finished Anglo-Dutch army at Waterloo, but I did manage to squeeze in a few small side projects. One of those is a Bretonnian Knights warband for Mordheim. These are 3D printed based on STL files from Highland Miniatures “Gallia” range (at 85% size to fit into the old Mordheim scale).

A Questing Knight, two Knights Errants, three Squires, and some peasants with bows and halberds.

EPIC Legio Honorum Titans

I am working my way through smaller side projects to finish off armies or collections. Below is a small maniple of Legio Honorum for EPIC. One Warlord and two Reivers in the “first generation” rounded style. Simple paint scheme and basing to fit in with my Imperial Forces for EPIC (and their 15+ years old basing…).

Dutch-Belgians for Waterloo

Over the last few months I have added lots of British infantry, cavalry and artillery to the Waterloo collection. You can see the results on the gradually expanding page here.

My next frontier were the Dutch-Belgian forces and particularly MG Bijlandt’s 1st Brigade which is shown in all its glory below. 27th Jager, 7th Line, 5th Militia in reduced size after devastating losses at Quatre-Bras, and finally 7th and 8th Militia.

I wrapped up a 3D printed Ogre Kingdoms army for Warmaster. Like the Lizardmen before, this one is all done with GW Contrast Paints.

Napoleonic Allied Army

I have launched a new foray into 28mm Napoleonics centered on the battle of Waterloo. The first effort is the growing Allied Army of the Netherlands. The page will expand over time with new units as I complete them. For now, we have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th British Infantry Divisions, and an initial start on the cavalry. Some samples below but check out the page for all photos.
