April Results

I am a bit late due to travel, but here is the summary for April. Another month has passed on the finish line is in sight. I completed a total of 2337.5 points. All Undivided (Iron), Khorne and Slaneesh models for the Lost and the Damned are now completed. Nurgle is missing only a single model (a Banelord), while Tzeentch is a mere 4 models away from the finish line (though big ones: Banelord, Feral Titan, Magnus the Red, Lord of Change). There are a few more Chaos Marines shipping across the ocean but those will get done fairly quickly when they arrive.

1 Slaneesh Questor – 275 points

2 Slaneesh Subjugators – 450 points

6 Slaneesh Knights – 412.5 points

6 Slaneesh Chimeras – 150 points

3 Slaneesh Hellhounds – 150 points

2 Tzeentch Firelords – 300 points

6 Tzeentch Doomwings – 300 points

1 Khorne Feral Titan – 300 points

Khorne Feral Titan

A mighty war engine of the Blood God! The Feral Titan is kit-bashed from an old 40k Blood Slaughterer, a Warhammer Juggernaught and some Ork Gargant and Stompa parts (and Green Stuff). This is the last model for the Lost and the Damned Khorne contingent! Only Nurgle (one Banelord) and Tzeentch (a Lord of Change, Magnus the Red, Banelord and Feral Titan) remains before the whole Lost and the Damned horde is completed.

Slaneesh APC

The final Slaneesh models are completed. This makes Slaneesh the second fully finished Chaos army in my collection (after Iron Warriors). Khorne and Nurgle are only a single model short though (a Feral and Warlord Titan respectively). The Slaneesh models are kit-bashed Chimeras for one of the Covens as well as some Hellhounds for close range support.

Slaneesh Knights

And the smaller cousins are done too: 6 Slaneesh Knights.

Tzeentch Doomwings

Completion of the Tzeentchian air force. At least until I figure out a colour scheme for the Firelord engines.

Tzeentch Firelords WIP

I am mostly done with the Tzeentchian air force but need some input on painting choices. Below are the wip Firelords. I need a colour choice for the central “engine” area on top of the wing (the ripped surface). For the Slaneesh knights I used Scorpion Green followed by Thraka Green washes to create a green “power coil” look. The alternative for Tzeentch might be yellow with a red wash to create an orange power coil (to tie in with the yellow/orange accents of the rest of the Tzeentch force). Any suggestions?

Slaneesh Easter Eggs

My washes have finally arrived so I am on the final sprint to finish up the last Lost and the Damned models. Easter seems an appropriate time to paint Slaneesh and Tzeentch (well, at least the colours are dazzling). Below are the Slaneesh Scout Titans: two Subjugators and a Questor.

Flames of War Display Board

Lack of available painting supplies made me focus on some terrain activities. I finished the first (of 40) display boards for my gaming room cabinet: German Pionierkompanie in defensive position. I photographed the steps so enjoy the tutorial. You can see the placement of the terrain board in the game room.

Epic Tyranids ready to devour

Many many nids are based and ready for painting.

The little stuff is hard to tell apart at this angle but we have 32 Termagants on the top, 18 Gargoyles below on the left, 4 Biovores in the center and 18 Hormagants on the right (and bottom middle). At the bottom of the tray are 15 Tyranid Warriors on the left and 16 Genestealer (with two Broodlords) on the right.

The heavier stuff is easier to tell apart but even more numerous. Top left are 6 lesser synapse nodes, 8 Spores and two major nodes. Middle top column are 6 Dactylis, 8 Malefactors and 3 Trygons. Right top column are 9 Exocrines and 6 Haruspex.
The small stuff one the bottom row are (from left) 6 Carnifex, 15 Lictors, 10 Tyrants, 8 Zoanthropes and 8 Raveners. Mixed in are two Dominatrix, a Dominatrix without Queen (to become a bio titan) and three bio titans (not pictured). With Tyranids I am never sure if the ratios between model types are “right” but there should be enough of everything for decent games.

Tyranid point values keep changing as the custom army lists evolve. Nevertheless, I am pegging this around 11,500 points. Enough to eat a planet… at least a little one.

March Summary

Well, March was a miserable month on the painting front. My parcel from Maelstrom Games never arrived and hence I had no brown, blue or purple washes (needed to complete any one of the remaining Chaos models…). I only managed 1180 points and four objectives.

18 Khorne Land Transports – 180 points

22 Nurgle Plague Zombies – ~350 points

4 Nurgle Contagion Engines – 325 points

1 Nurgle Plague Tower – 325 points

1 Nurgle Objective

1 Tzeentch Objective

1 Slaneesh Objective

1 Generic Chaos Objective

Lack of painting supplies made me finish a few more grass terrain tiles (4’x2′) and finish a few Mordheim buildings (pics coming soon). But that doesn’t really count for ToEG. Will do better in April…
