Imperial Guard Group Shot

This is how a completed army looks like 🙂

Click on pics for bigger versions. Top tray are the core elements, bottom tray are the specialists. Top tray:

Left column, front to back: Regimental HQ with Snipers (nope, they wouldn’t be fielded that way…), Infantry Company, Fire Support and Ogryn squads with transports

Middle column, front to back: Infantry Company, Rough Rider Company, Hell Hounds and Salamander

Right column, front to back: Vanquishers, two Tank Companies, Demolishers, Executioners

Bottom Tray:

Left column, front to back: Super Heavy Tanks (4 Baneblades, 2 Shadowswords, 1 Stormhammer), Deathstrike Missile Launcher, Objectives, Bunkers

Middle left column, front to back: Basilisk Company, Bombards, Manticores, Hydra Flak Company

Middle right column, front to back: Storm Trooper, Valkyries, Vultures, Thunderbolts, Marauder Bomber

Right column, front to back: Objective, Sentinels, Leviathan

Comes to about 9800 points total. And there is absolutely nothing left to paint for this army, unless I stumble upon a Capitol Imperialis at a reasonable cost at some point.

And their big brothers from the Warhammer 40k cabinet. This was actually my very first 40k army. The infantry models are all from the old Rogue Trader plastic kit, so much of this stuff is close to two decades old. The Baneblade is from Armorcast.

Ork Group Shot

The Green Horde in all its completed glory. A solid 12885 points of greenish glow. The trays are occupied by Clan, so we have:

Top tray, left: Bad Moon Clan with lots of Nobz, a Big Mob, many Big Gun formations with Mekboyz, a dozen Gun Wagons including Wierdboy Towers, and a Stompa Mob with Supa Stompa

Top tray, middle: Blood Axe Clan with Stormboyz, a Mob, Kommandoes and Objective

Top tray, right: Goff Clan with Stompas, a Huge Mob with Dreadnoughts and Kans, and a dozen Gun Wagons

Bottom tray, left: Evil Sunz Clan with Bikes, LOTS of Buggies, Wartracks and Scorchas, some Deathkoptas, a dozen Gun Wagons, Gargant, Fighta-Bombas, Landa and Objective

Botom tray, right: Deathskullz Clan with a Huge Mob, Battle Wagons, Stompa Mob with Supa Stompa, a dozen Gun Wagons, Flak Wagons, two Gun Fortresses, a Battle Fortress, Objective and Great Gargant

Hidden at the back of the tray are the Snakebite Clan Boar Boyz, Squiggoth and Squig Catapults (in the middle)

My 40k Ork horde is still unpainted, so I added a snapshot of their less technologically advanced cousins from the Warhammer world instead. This was my very first Warhammer army (and thus first miniature army at all). From the glory days of 1988 to 1992. They actually got replaced by my first wave of interest in Epic in the early 90’s (a huge collection that I regrettably sold at the end of the 90’s – only to slowly buy everything back at inflated prices now 😦 ).

Flames of War Ruined Huts

I finished some bombed out 15mm buildings. These will mostly be used for rural landscapes in Flames 0f War (say in Russia) but the lack of “tech” on the models also makes them useful for quite a range of earlier historical periods. They are a rough match for my undamanged wooden huts below. All models are resin cast from unknown manufacturers (or at least I forgot…).

Tzeentch Group Shot

Tzeentch is the neglected little step child in my chaos collection. Not only is the smallest army but also the least painted. Once completed its supposed to be 2800 points for the Thousand Sons (Black Legion list) and 1850 points for the Lost and the Damned.

Left column, front to back: Retinue with Rhinos, Flamers, Discs of Tzeentch

Middle left column, front to back: Havocs with Rhinos, Dreadnoughts, Thousand Sons with Rhinos, Deathwheel

Middle right column, front to back: Magnus the Red, Daemon Prince, Lord of Change and Firelords (the big empty flying bases – models are lying on the right of the bases), Silver Towers, Doomwings

Right column, front to back: Coven with Altar, Coven, Fire Support squad, Feral Titan and Warlord Titan

I don’t even have a 40k “big brother” for these guys. I felt so bad that I took a pic of the other “blue” 40k army in my cabinet. At least there is comfort in colour-matches.

Khorne Feral WIP

Slow but steady progress on the Khorne Feral Titan. I extended the multi-layer domed head from the resin face piece and smoothed out the torso walls. The back piece is cut out from a plastic Ork Stompa with the tiled roof part removed. Most of the side of the torso will be hidden by the weapons so this is getting close to the finish line.

Epic Chaos pics

The Chaos legion has grown large enough to warrant god-specific pages. I removed the combined “Black Legion” page and added pages for Nurgle, Slaneesh, Tzeentch, Khorne and Undivided (Iron Warriors). They can all be found under Games & Armies\Epic Armageddon. The pages include all the new photos from the last few months of the ToEG competition as well.

Flames of War Bunkers

I am slowly chipping away at a small mountain of Flames of War 15mm resin cast pieces from different manufacturers. I acquired all that stuff in a burst of enthusiasm and now it’s sluggishly getting done. This one is a small single piece bunker. I am still trying to figure out how to do decent aged concret. This technique uses a lot of streaking whereas I have previously just drybrushed (older example of drybrushed bunker below).

Slaneesh Group Shot

The Slaneesh army is noticably smaller than the Khorne, Nurgle and Iron Warrior monstrocities. It also still needs a fair bit of work. The open space in the top left is for a few more inbound Noise Marines to allow me to find a decided Emperor’s Children force. The top right is the corner of shame where all the base coated stuff sits (minus a Questor Scout Titan that is still in the spray booth.

Left column, front to back: Retinue with Rhinos and Daemon Prince, Noise Marines with Rhinos and Havocs with Rhinos

Middle left column, front to back: Fire Support squad, Daemonettes, Mounted Daemonettes

Middle right column, front to back: Keeper of Secrets, Sentinels (the Eldar Wraithlord models), Hell Hound tanks

Right column, front to back: Coven with (missing) Altar, Coven with Chimeras, Knights and Subjugator Scout Titans (an unpictured Questor Scout Titan)

Total of 2235 points for the Lost and the Damned variant and 1850 for the Marines (Black Legion list). The Emperor’s Children fan list gets to use stuff from across the tray so that probably comes in a 3000 points or more.

I also took a quick snap of thier bigger brothers: My Warhammer 40k Emperor’s Children force. Long long out of date with the current edition.
