Iron Warrior Group Shot

Click on the image to get a bigger version. This is a quick snap (with flash) into the miniature cabinet where the Iron Warrior and Iron Cult tray is full the to the rim. The only missing models are two Hell Talon bombers and two objectives. And there is barely enough room for those…

On the left we have the Iron Warriors with

Left column, front to back: Bike Squadron, Obliterators, Havocs with Rhinos, Retinue and Armoured Company of Predators.

Middle column, front to back: Two Forelorn Hope squads with Rhinos, Decimator, Havocs with Rhinos, Retinue with Rhinos, Defilers, Deathwheel, Hell Talons and Hell Blades.

In between the columns are  three Dreadnoughts and another Decimators. The empty hole is for the Iron Warrior Objective (finished but still in the varnishing booth)

On the right is the rusty Iron Cult with

Left column, front to back: Coven with Altar, Armoured Company with Leman Russ, Objective, two Hydras and two Artillery Squadrons of Basilisks

Right column, front to back: Two more Covens, each with Fire Support element and some Demolishers.

The Iron Warriors come in a 4415 points (Black Legion list), the Iron Cult at 2160 points (Lost and the Damned list).

Imperial Guard Leviathan & Stormhammer

More stuff from January: A mighty Leviathan and a slightly less mighty Stormhammer. These were the last Imperial Guard models on my desk. Another army completed (unless I find a Capitol Imperialis somewhere for a reasonable price…).

As always, larger images of both models can be found on the Imperial Guard page.

Iron Warrior Hell Blades

My camera is back in service so here are the pics of the last items from the January sprint: Two squadrons of Hell Blades. I followed my basic Iron Warrior paint scheme but gave the squadrons some light red and purple washes to distinguish them (similar to the Drop Pods). That aligns them with the red and purple Iron Warrior retinues.

ToEG – January Summary

Another month has gone by and I am happy to report good productivity despite substantial travel. The Nurgle contingent is done except the Daemon Engines (I am still waiting for one engine to arrive). I also finished up the Iron Cult contingent (undivided) as well as some odds and ends. All in we are looking at 3275 points for January:

4 Iron Warrior Dreadclaw Drop Pods
6 Iron Warrior Hell Talon Fighter Bomber – 400 (pics to come)

4 Deathguard Plague Marines including Lord – 150
1 Deathguard Dreadnought – 50
10 Deathguard Blight Drones – 500
9 Nurgle Big Mutants – 315
6 Nurgle Traitor Rough Rider (Beasts of Nurgle) – 150

4 Slaneesh Traitor Sentinel – 100

1 Iron Cult Altar – 150
3 Iron Cult Demolisher – 210
6 Iron Cult Leman Russ – 400

2 Salamander Terminator incl. Librarian – 250

1 Imperial Guard Stormhammer – 200 (pics to come)
1 Imperial Guard Leviathan – 400? (pics to come)

ToEG – LatD Nurgle Traitor Rough Rider

Closing on completion for the Nurgle contingent. A squadron of Rough Riders is ready to mix it up. The models are Beasts of Nurgle from the Warmaster range. There are only three variants so I had to clip off the banner of the second “command” model and greenstuff the result a bit.

ToEG – LatD Nurgle Blight Drones

My little poll indicated a preference for both paint schemes (one per squadron) so here they are:

Squadron Rust

Squadron Plague

ToEG – LatD Iron Cult Chaos Altar

The final piece for the Iron Cult! A mighty Chaos Altar to be pushed around by one of the cultist covens. Actually it’s self-propelled so not so much pushing. The base model is a Squat Land Train engine. I put DC2-4 models onto larger bases so I had to “bulk” out of the sides a bit. The platforms are just plastic card pieces with some rivets and Iron Cult gunners. Nothing fancy but the “steam engine” look fits in nicely with the steampunk/rust/scavenger theme of the Iron Cult. This is it. First LatD contingent completed!

ToEG – LatD Iron Cult Demolishers

More tanky tankness for the Iron Cult. Unlike the kitbashed Leman Russes, these are straight Imperial Guard Demolishers. The new models are cast in one piece so my conversion urges got suppressed quickly.
