Finished up some mercenaries. Irish Kern and Gallowglasses, Stradioti riders for the Condottieri.

A few more assorted units. I now have pages up for the Papal States, War of the Roses, French, and Germans. More to come.

I have jumped knee-deep into the new Age of Chivalry supplement for Saga. The first force to be fully painted are my new Germans of the Holy Roman Empire.

Last weekend I had the privilege of participating in a local SAGA tournament and won a box of Gripping Beast plastic figures. Add a bit of paint, and here we have a small Roman warband for the Age of Invasions.

The Irish have arrived…
I went with a wilder, more bare-skinned look to distinguish them from their other anglo-centric cousins. Also, lots of green and yellow tones to go with the style of the shields. Finally, I trimmed down all the shields to be more like bucklers – reflecting the faster “hit and run” style of the Irish.

More Valkyries. A command Hearthguard unit as well as one with Dane Axes. The heroes cover the general Warlord as well as any Heroes that my daughter might want to take. In their first game, the Valkyries/Jomsvikings soundly trashed my sons Vikings!

My daughter asked me for a SAGA warband but wanted women. So after some searching I went with Shadowforge Valkyries models. I am using Jomsvikings rules which seems to reflect their elite/angry style. Some minor conversions gave me four units of Hearthguard plus some additional models that are in progress.

Ragnar Lothbrok and, inspired by the great Vikings TV series, his brother Rollo (old Gripping Beast model).
