Epic Knights

As a small side project, I finished my EPIC 40k Knights. These are ancient models from the early 1990 so I used the paint style and decals of that era. The photos makes them come out very flat – they are multi-layer highlighted… – though there is only so much you can do with old sculpts. These were the very last figures for my EPIC 40k collection which, at 2,378 painted figures, is now fully completed! Yay!

Squat Prospectors

A small palate cleanser after all those Napoleonic models. They are 3D printed proxies for the Ironhead Prospector gang in Necromunda.

EPIC Legio Honorum Titans

I am working my way through smaller side projects to finish off armies or collections. Below is a small maniple of Legio Honorum for EPIC. One Warlord and two Reivers in the “first generation” rounded style. Simple paint scheme and basing to fit in with my Imperial Forces for EPIC (and their 15+ years old basing…).

EPIC Adeptus Mechanicus

The Adeptus Mechanicus was my last big unpainted army for EPIC, mostly because the list changed over the years which rendered many of the originally assembled models obsolete. But ultimately I overcame my own reservations, bought a few more models to fill in the list gaps, and finished the lot. The full army page can be found here. At this point, only the Titans and Knights are left to complete my EPIC collection. 70 models/bases to go but 2,400 models/bases are finished. Not bad!

EPIC Tyranids

A full page of EPIC Tyranids is now up here. They are painted in the same scheme as my Battlefleet Gothic Tyranid fleet. Only a couple of armies to go for a complete EPIC collection…

Epic Buildings

Hmm… another long break induced by my frustrated desire to finish that 40k Blood Angel army. But I did manage to sneak in some buildings for Epic. The pyramids are just foam on a hard wood base for stability. The adobe buildings are a nod to the old Titan Legion cardboard buildings but made out of wood (MDF) to inaugurate my new scroll saw (a couple of years ago when that saw was actually new – I only just got around to assembling, texturing and painting them).

Eldar Revenant Titans and end of ToEG

And another army is completed! Two Revenant Titans ready to fry some aliens (I guess the Eldar see humans as aliens, right?).

The complete Eldar page is also up with larger images of the models painted during the Tales of Epic Gamers on the Tactical Commands forum.

Eldar Avatar and Titans

After a longish break from painting, I finally wrapped up the remaining Eldar items for the Tale of Epic Gamers going on at the Tactical Commands forum.

The Avatar was redone from the previously failed “molten lava” attempt. He is still rising from lava but transitions from heated orange to bone white around the kneecap.

I magnetized the titans for flexibility. The heads can be swapped between Phantom and Warlock configuration. Both arms can be switched as well to field any combination of weaponry (I have at least two of each weapon type). I also adjusted the pose of one of the titans to make them less similar.
