This force covers the Gaelic inhabitants of Ireland and Scotland. In Saga, this corresponds to the Irish, Norse-Gael and Scots army lists. Irish in Saga are a fast-moving raiding force with just enough punch to make anybody regret underestimating them. The Norse-Gaels add near suicidal punch to that mix. To reflect this style and, compared to their Anglo-Saxon neighbours, relative poverty, I went with figures that are more lightly clad. The shields are cut down to be more like bucklers – both for mobility and visual distinction from the other armies. The exception are the Norse-Gael nobility which has more armour as a nod to their Nordic side. For colours, I went with the yellow/green/black style that matches their shield designs.
Heroes: The Irish have a number of options for their Warlord, so I made a regular one, one with a Dane Axe and one mounted on a pony. For heroes, I am using the stock Brian Boruma figure with a little tree made from wire and putty. Four Curaidh accompany the Irish contingent. For the Norse Gael and Scots variants, we have more armoured Warlords – one with a Dane Axe – and the two legendary lords Brodir of Man and MacBeth, the Last Gaelic King of the Scots.

Norse-Gael/Scots Leaders: Brodir of Man, Warlord, Warlord with Dane Axe, and Macbeth.
Hearthguards: While the Irish are light raiders, their Fianna elites can hold their own against anybody. The Norse-Gael Huscarls and Scottish Thanes similar offer a central push to the Gaelic hordes.

Warriors: Irish have a unique warrior unit in the form of their dogs. These are Gripping Beast stock figures. The two units of regular Bonnachts are armed with javelins and cut-down bucklers. On the punchier side, the Norse-Gael Gall Ghaeil will obliterate most opponents.

Levy: The Gaelic people can be supported by levy with javelins or slings.
