The Teutonic Knights are an iconic force, having made the transition from a small brotherhood during the first crusade to ruling effective their own country in the Baltics. The figures for this force are mostly from Fireforge with a few conversions from different manufacturers for their local levy support. I used decals for the horses and shields – specifically designed for Fireforge – which made painting a breeze.
Heroes: The army is led by the Grand Master on Horse or on Foot. This is a resin figure from Fireforge.
Hearthguards: The crown jewel of the Teutonic Knights are the brother knights. Eight of those are leading the charge with a second contingent of eight from the Livonian Order for some visual variety.
Eighteen brother knights on foot are similar spread between heavy weapons, Livonian Order, and regular equipment.

Warriors: Lay brothers, colloquially known as “Graumäntler” (grey clocks) for their grey tunics, supported the knights in battle. These come mounted, on foot, and with crossbows. The crossbow unit includes up to 12 figures to provide additional punch.

Levy: Local peasants were often drafted to support the Order. I kitbashed a unit with javelins and one with bows. Despite being rural levy, I used a paint scheme that visually ties them into the rest of the army.
