The Bretonnian Knights list was published fairly early in the Mordheim release cycle, but never received official figures. I have a large Bretonnian army from the first release in the mid-1990’s, but it didn’t feel right to cannibalize that collection for spare figures. Instead, I 3D printed these based on STL files from Highland Miniatures in their “Gallia” range.
Leaders: The warband is led by a Questing Knight accompanied by two younger Knights Errant. I avoided the traditional sword and shield configuration as shields are frankly useless in Mordheim. Instead, we have a greatsword and two large hammers our knights.
Supporting their knightly masters are three squires with a range of equipment.
Peasants: Drafted from their lord’s estate, two units of peasants fill out the warband: one with bows and one with halberds. I painted these in the livery of the Questing Knight since they would be his retainers whereas the Knights Errant have their own heraldry.
Forresters: I had some very old figures of Games Workshop’s “Robin Hood” clone from the 90s so I added these and some more printed archers as a small Forrester contingent.
